“I’m just doing my best”
This is what I hear so often from moms I speak with. I know it’s true. I know with every fiber of their being they are doing the best they can everyday. I want to zoom in closer with this statement. I want to bring some light to this statement. As moms we want to be the very best mothers to our children. We want them to know how much we love them, how much we believe in them, how badly we want them to succeed in life. If we’re not careful we shift our intentions without even realizing it.
We move from a passionate loving mother, into a mother walking in fear trying to control the outcome.
Here is what we are called to do as mothers, ready? Obey. Obey the Lord and his word. That’s all we are called to do. When we are walking in complete obedience (as much as we know it) then God will handle the rest.
God will produce the fruit in our lives and especially the lives of our children.
I tell my children often, “you’re to obey Momma, you don’t have to figure out the details or understand fully in order to obey. I know what’s best for you, you are to trust and obey me.” With out fail the moment those words come out of my mouth I feel the Lord nudging me as if to say you too daughter, the same goes for you.
As you do your best remember you’re called to obedience, God will handle the fruit. He never intended us to do it all. He’s a good father like that. We momma’s will continue to obey, and walk in faith.
Doing our best… to obey and trust God, not doing our best to control the outcome.
